We located a 40 pin double-male headers that work well in the BBB with a standard header length below the plastic on the bottom of the board and .310" sticking up on top of the pcb. A typical header pin rises .340" above the pcb so they are just a half millimeter or so short of being perfectly level with the other headers, when mounted on the bottom (and soldered on the top).
These are good for providing stacking shield boards on the BBB, and connecting things like servos, which have female headers, on breadboards. Also good for connecting two servo cables, or a servo with an extender cable. Bag of 5.
